How it went in 2026
150 applications → 65 teachers online → 16 at the Lviv week, from eleven regions. Those places were earned through homework.
Taking part was free: Apex covered accommodation and meals, and the teachers paid their own travel.
The online stage
Four Thursday sessions, 2–23 July, led by Taras Tymoshkevych. Lecture → practice → homework, marked on the 0–7 olympiad scale.
Topics: Helly's theorem · Hall's lemma · mass point geometry · composition of plane motions.
The week in Lviv
8–16 August: seven days at UCU and two in the Carpathians. One thread ran through the week: transformation geometry. There were also 14 problems defended aloud, three maths battles and an oral olympiad with no paper.
Beyond the classes: the Lviv Organ Hall, a hike in the mountains and a bonfire.
Voices
This is not one of those "professional development courses" where you click your way to a certificate in half an hour. It will be hard, but it is worth it.
It turns out you can solve geometry in your head — without writing anything down, without the smallest scrap of paper!
I got to be in a student's place. I felt how hard it is. The way I talk to my students will change.
